Show jumpers from across Australia are heading to Boneo Park on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria this weekend for the venue’s annual Boneo Cup event.

The three-day show jumping program features classes for all levels, from 70cm up to the Boneo Cup, a Grand Prix class for elite competitors. Championship divisions include Amateurs, Children, Juniors, and Young Riders, alongside classes for young horses and the ever-popular Mini Prix and Future Stars, showcasing the next generation of rising equine talent.

Top combinations to contest the Boneo Cup

The highlight of the event will be Sunday’s Boneo Cup (145–150cm, Art. 273.3.3.1), where 14 of Australia’s top jumping combinations will contest the headline class.

The 2024 Boneo Cup was won by Frida Lindgren aboard Mabobri De Mabribo. Frida returns this year with Wondaree Colleen. The 2023 winners, Tori Stuckey and Jaybee Ballon D’or, are back and, with strong recent form on the FEI Jumping World Cup circuit, will be aiming for a second victory.

Joining them are Mattea Davidson with Jaybee Vigilante and Checkamour D, and Robert Palm with Jaybee Vibrant – all FEI World Cup winners, with the latter also claiming the GDP Classic earlier this year at Boneo.

World Championship representative Billy Raymont has two entries with Tulara Dakchico and Blue Balou PS, while Anneliese Wansey competes with Texas and Glenara Cristal. Rounding out a strong field are Matthew Whalley and Cydonia, Nicole Manuel and Nikandro MPH, Sue Coman and Lizetta, and Hayden Parker with Tulara Spangenberg.

Next stop, Nationals

With the Australian Jumping Championships scheduled for 5–9 November at Boneo Park, many competitors are using the Boneo Cup as an opportunity to familiarise their horses with the venue ahead of another big week of competition.

After being held at Willinga Park in NSW in 2024, the Nationals return to Boneo Park, where they were last staged in 2022. The venue is also set to host the championships again in 2026. ClipMyHorse.TV will live stream all main arena action from 7–9 November.
