The World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) is the global hub connecting studbooks with international equestrian sport. As the only worldwide federation of sport horse studbooks, it links breeders, riders, and competitions, working closely with the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) to ensure breeding programs align with the demands of top level-jumping.
The WBFSH Sire Rankings highlight the stallions whose offspring are making waves on the international jumping circuit, and the breeders whose vision and dedication turn potential into performance The 2025 results show the continued strength of established European bloodlines, while also reflecting the growing international reach of these sires through global breeding partnerships and carefully managed programs.
“Each year, these rankings illustrate how interconnected the international breeding landscape has become,” said the WBFSH President. “The names may be familiar, but their success stories span continents — the result of dedicated breeders, riders, and studbooks working together to produce the next generation of champions.”
Cornet Obolensky edges past Kannan
After finishing fourth in 2024, KWPN stallion Cornet Obolensky has climbed to the top of the 2025 Jumping Sire Rankings with 30,705 points, narrowly surpassing last year’s leader, Kannan, who finished just 341 points behind on 30,364. Chacco-Blue (25,931 points) and Diamant de Semilly (24,162 points) complete the top four, while My Lord Carthago HN rounds out the top five, reflecting the continued dominance of proven European bloodlines.
Several stallions have made notable progress this year. Vigo d’Arsouilles STX, Harley and Carrera VDL have all moved steadily up the rankings thanks to the international success of their progeny, demonstrating both consistency and depth in the global show jumping gene pool.

How are points allocated?
The point allocations for the WBFSH ranking work the same as for the well-known FEI Rider Rankings. But unlike the FEI Rider Ranking, which is dynamic, the WBFSH rankings run on a 12-month fixed cycle, with points restarting at zero when the new ranking cycle begins on 1 October every year. For the stallion rankings, the points of each progeny in the final WBFSH Breeder Ranking are added to give the sire his total number of points and rank.
