Champion eventer Michael Jung will be out of action for some time following a fall at the FEI World Breeding Eventing Championships for Young Horses in France.

Jung was leading the seven-year-old class following the dressage phase with Choclat, but unfortunately the horse fell on cross country. Choclat was unharmed, however Jung broke his humerus and part of his shoulder joint. Fortunately both were clean breaks and no surgery is needed.

“I broke the upper arm and a piece of shoulder socket yesterday. The fractures are so straight that surgery is not necessary and hopefully heal everything by itself,” said Jung in a post on his Facebook page.

Equestrian Life wishes Michael a speedy recovery!
