Brisbane CDN event update
These are difficult times we live in, and we ask you for your continued understanding and support.
The Saddlefitter Brisbane CDN key team members met via ZOOM with the executive and management of Equestrian Queensland at 11:30AM AEST 24 August 2020 to discuss the COVID-19 situation in the Greater Brisbane area.
The event is proceeding as planned 16-19 September 2020.
Summary of entries received:
· Riders 190
· Horses 245
· Estimated tests to be ridden 450
Based on entries received we have estimated the number of people on site per day as follows:
· Wed 16 Sept, 220 competitors, grooms and officials, 40-50 spectators, estimated total 260-275 people
· Thurs 350 competitors, grooms and officials, 75-100 Spectators, estimated total 450 people
· Fri 350 competitors, grooms and officials, 100 – 125 spectators, estimated total 450 people
· Saturday we anticipate we will achieve maximum site numbers allowed under COVID safety planning guidelines. Entry will be limited to a maximum of 500 people on site at any one time.
COVID-19 Update:
Site population will be strictly limited to 500 persons.
All riders, groom/support staff, sponsors, traders, accredited media and officials will issued with colour coded wrist bands, officials and media will also be issued with lanyards. Access to controlled areas within the venue designated by the wristband and lanyard.
Spectators WILL NOT be allowed in the camping and stable compound.
COVID social distancing, square meterage and social gathering protocols will be strongly encouraged.
Additional cleaning resources have been engaged to clean amenities and all high touch point areas over and above the specifications required in our approved plan.
Hand sanitiser will be freely available throughout the venue. A complementary bottle of hand sanitiser will be provided in the riders entry bags.
Access to stable and camping areas will be restricted to competitors, approved groom staff and approved officials.
Entry and exit to the entire venue will be controlled and the Nominate QCode scanning system will be in operation capturing key COVID safe information. Furthermore, Saturday will be ticketed (no charge) to manage numbers, access to the site and backup/reinforce COVID data capture. Link to download the Nominate app can be found here.
Presentations and prize giving will proceed, only place getters will be permitted in the presentation area, all presentation attendees will be required to remain in open area, social distancing will be strongly encouraged. There will be NO group presentation photos.
Catered functions will proceed however, food and beverage distribution will be modified to ensure COVID SAFE operating practices are applied.
Entertainment will proceed and COVID SAFE operating practices will be applied and enforced to ensure safety of all.
The management and executive of Equestrian Queensland and the Saddlefitter Brisbane CDN event team is monitoring the COVID situation continuously and as the situation evolves we will keep you informed.
