Riding the striking mare Kirby Park Impress, Olympian Megan Jones emerged victorious in the CCI4*-S class at Tonimbuk International Horse Trials on the weekend, finishing on a score of 40.70 penalties.

Having placed first after the dressage phase with an impressive score of 27.10 penalties, Megan and “Candy”, as Kirby Park Impress is known, added 12 penalties in the show jumping phase which saw the pair slip to second place heading into the cross country phase. However, a fast cross country round with just 1.6 time penalties saw the experienced combination regain the lead, ahead of second placed Samuel Jeffree riding Woodmount Lolita.

Third place in the class went to Kirilee Hosier riding Regal Red Jasper, while Simon Tainsh finished fourth with Remi Lord of the Realm.

Will Enzinger dominated the CCI3*-S class, placing both first and second with Cairo Xtreme and Grandjany respectively. Steph Hann placed third with True Celebre, ahead of Erin Callahan in fourth place riding Danson Lincoln.

In the large CCI2*-S class, Amy Gotts Wheeler took the win from 38 starters riding Sharvalley Thunder, with Murray Lamperd second on Secret Mojo. Edward Darby placed third with Dawn Of The Day, while Megan Jones was fourth with Guhr.
