UK Olympic eventer and royal family member Zara Tindall gave birth to her third child on Sunday evening from her Cotswolds home.
Zara’s husband, Mike Tindall, broke the happy news on his podcast ‘The Good, the Bad, and the Rugby’ on Monday, saying the birth happened very quickly.
“[We] didn’t make it to hospital – on the bathroom floor,” said Mike.
“Z had contractions through the night, she hadn’t slept well the night before so we had someone take the kids through the day.”
“Fortunately, Zara’s friend Dolly was there and recognised that we wouldn’t have got to the hospital in time.”
“It was run to the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom. The midwife who was going to meet us at the hospital wasn’t that far away so she drove up and the second midwife arrived just after the head,” said Mike.
“As every man would say, she was a warrior as always.”
Three days after the 8 lb 4 baby boy was born, the couple has annoucned his name as Lucas Philip – with Mike saying, “We always struggle with that. We never pick one before they arrive.”
