Albury Wodonga Horse Trials took place over the weekend, with many combinations keen to stretch their legs ahead of Melbourne International Three-Day Event in a couple of weeks’ time.
Stuart Tinney and Viennese won the CCN3*S class, adding just six cross country time faults to their dressage score to finish on 37.8. It was a close second for Teegan Ashby and Magic Mushroom TAE on 39.8, while Hannah Klep was third with Tulara Chicouve on 41.9. Stuart had a successful event, also winning his division of the EVA95 class on Caruso.
“It was great. Thanks to the organising committee for putting on a three-star… we’re off to Melbourne soon and so it was really good to get a run – we hadn’t had a run in a while!” said Stuart following his win. Viennese was second in the two-star last year at Melbourne International Three-Day Event and this year will step up to three-star level.
The CCN2*S went to Kim Leibowitz and Widgee Total Tribute on 28.1, ahead of Georgia van der Drift and Lethal Addiction LDE on 30.80, and then Hannah Deegan and HK Hawthorn in third on 31.1.
The CCN1*S was split into two divisions, with Catherine Baxter and Koko Bean winning Division A on 30 and Hannah Klep claiming Division B on a score of 31.6 with Kenlock Sandro Sky.
