Andrew Hoy on the podium at Montelibretti
By Equestrian Life
Andrew Hoy has finished third in the CCI3*S with Bloom Des Hauts Crets at Montelibretti in Italy, adding just one jumping rail to their dressage score to finish on 30.6.
The pair led after the dressage on 26.6 and posted the fastest cross country round of the field to head into the final phase in front. Unfortunately one rail down on the final fence was enough to cost them the win – however they still finished on the podium behind Italian Pietro Grandis who claimed first and second with Fortune III and Highlighter.
“Odaria Finemore’s Bloom Des Hauts Crets jumped a super classy round – only to roll the pole on the last fence – but finished in a fabulous 3rd place,” said Andrew via social media.
Seventh after the dressage and fourth after the cross country, Andrew and his other ride in the class – Creevagh Cooley – were unfortunately eliminated in the showjumping.
“Creevagh Cooley started super classy and very scopey into her showjumping round – but a misunderstanding between us in the treble combination left me on the floor and both of us eliminated.
“The good news is we are all fit and healthy to fight another day!”
