When it comes to aspirational equine properties, Cornwall Park Stud in Toolern Vale, Victoria, is hard to trump. Spanning 700 acres, this historic thoroughbred stud is located in the heart of a racing hub where studs, stables and training facilities are in abundance. In fact, Toolern Vale and surrounds is renowned for being ‘Thoroughbred Country’ — so much so that the VicRoads-issued gold and brown licence plates with that wording are a regular sight throughout the area!

Just 45 minutes from Melbourne, the picturesque property has it all, including a foaling unit, 70 boxes, stallion barn, covering shed, individual spelling yards, spacious spelling paddocks with shelters and quality fencing, and more. The pictures really do speak for themselves…

Peter Boyle and Lisa Gordon have taken over the property and bring 25 years of equine experience to the stud with them. Peter has run some of the largest thoroughbred studs in Australia, while Lisa (who many will know as a talented equestrian event photographer!) is also the founder and creator of equine brand ePro and has many years of high-end management experience. Moving from the Hunter Valley, Peter and Lisa believe Victoria offers great opportunities for thoroughbred breeders and they are excited to be living in the heart of the action.

The property specialises in foaling down and mare reproduction with walk-on’s to all Victorian studs, and also caters for both short and long term agistment of broodmares, foaling down, weaning, yearling preparation, racehorse spelling, rehabilitation, and also overnight and short term stabling.

With horse agistment currently available, Cornwall Park Stud is currently taking in performance horses over the Christmas period. If you’re based in Victoria and going away over the holidays for that first well-deserved break post-Covid, this is a great way to ensure your horse is in safe and capable hands at a state of the art facility.
