Virtus Equestrian has long run video competitions for athletes, however it has recently been announced that these competitions will form part of what will be titled the Virtus Equestrian World Video Rider League.
The League will have a World Video Rankings list for each division (II1, II2 and II3), taking into account scores from the first video competition following the 2023 Virtus Global Games through to the most recent competition (October 2024). An average score is calculated and used to determine the rankings.
The announcement, made via Virtus Sport Para Dressage, explains that to be included in the League, a rider must at least have uploaded three Performance Level Tests.
“The list will be renewed at the end of each year and before the Global Games. Riders who usually upload two rides of the same test at a Video Competition might choose to have only one counted, but which one must be made clear at the registration.”

Australia leads the way
In the II1 division, Australian Sarah Sherwood is ranked No. 1 with an impressive average score of 72.54%. Sarah has had excellent results throughout the past year with her horse Dicavalli Royal Guess. Also ranked in the II1 division is Andrew Driffield (No. 5), Catherine Viney (No. 8), Luke Purtill (No. 13), Chloe Karsten (No. 14), and Kyle Chapman (No. 16).
Australia also holds the top ranking in the II2 division, with Sui Watts maintaining an average score of 64.10%.
In the II3 division, Phoebe Roche of Australia is ranked No. 2, while fellow Aussie Bel Dabic is at No. 4.
With nine athletes appearing in the World Video Rankings, Australia is the best-represented country in the Virtus Equestrian World Video Rider League – cementing our standing as world leaders in the sport.
