Australians setting up for a strong week in Doha
Week 3 of the Doha Tour begins tonight, with a strong Australian line up set to perform across the 3 days.
Australians set to start this week:
- Edwina Tops-Alexander
- Amelia Douglass
- Hannah Doolan
- Amber Fuller
- Jamie Winning-Kermond
- Jamie Kermond
On top form:
Amber Fuller and Nopal Van Tallaert (Diamant de Semilly x Pommeau du Heup) are set to start the CSI5* – 1.50m this Thursday. The pair will be one to watch as they enter Week 3 following a 7th place in the €200,000 CSI4* Grand Prix and 6th place in the CSI4* 1.50m.
Edwina Tops-Alexander will also contest the CSI5* – 1.50m with 14 year old Fellow Castlefield (Je T’Aime Flamenco x Twister). The combination enters the class after an 8th place in the Week 1 CSI4* 1.40m Special Two Phase, and a rest in Week 2 of the tour.
Australian U-25 rider’s to watch:
24 year old Amelia Douglass & 12 year old Quel Filou 16 (Qiwi Dream x Lerano 2) will also start the CSI5* – 1.50m this Thursday. A new combination in 2023, the pair were quick to receive Australian success with a 4th in the Australian Senior Championships and 3rd in the Jumping NSW State Championships Senior Title Final.
16 year old Hannah Doolan and 9 year old stallion Carino Mio (Cinsey x Vesontio du Mesnil) will start in the first class for Week 3, the CSI2* – Special Two-Phase – 1.20m. The pair have had a strong start to their Doha campaign, with a 9th place in the CSI2* – Jump Off – 1.20m from a field of 67.
