Boyd Exell off to a winning start in London
Australian driving sensation Boyd Exell is off to a winning start at The London International Horse Show, claiming the opening “Extreme Driving” class.
Boyd and his team — comprised of Emma Olsson and Hugh Scott-Barrett, alongside horses Bajnok, Maestoso Jupiter, Barny and Mad Max — made the drive-off alongside two other teams and then pulled out a lightning-fast final round to secure victory. Despite a penalty, their quick time saw them finish on a total of 140.18, just enough to beat Belgium’s Dries Degrieck (142.84) in second and long-time rival Koos De Ronde of the Netherlands in third (146.4).
The driving action continues at The London International Horse Show on Friday and Saturday, with the FEI Driving World Cup leg. Boyd and his team — which remains unchanged from Thursday’s competition — will be the seventh and final team to take on the course.
We wish Boyd the best of luck!
