The spotlight in Doha, Qatar, shifted to precision, partnership, and artistry as the CHI Al Shaqab Presented by Longines concluded its dressage and para dressage programme over the weekend.

From 18–21 February, the Longines Indoor Arena hosted the region’s most competitive Big Tour tests, alongside CPEDI3* para dressage classes, delivering championship-level performances across the board.

CDI5* Grand Prix highlights

Friday’s CDI5* Grand Prix showcased a stellar international field, led by British Olympic gold medallist Carl Hester with Fame (Bordeaux 28 x Rhodium). Carl produced a confident and flowing test for 75.848%, despite an uncharacteristic problematic change at the end of the extended canter.

“I haven’t been back in Doha for 11 years. To come back after all this time and win is a lovely experience for me,” shares Carl. “I’ve been doing this sport for 36 years now, and I still enjoy it! Every show becomes a treasured memory. My horse was really good and relaxed today.”

Close behind in second was Poland’s Sandra Sysojeva and Maxima Bella (Millenium x Christ 3) with a fault-free test for 74.283%.

In third was Nadja Aasboe Sloth and Favour Gersdorf (Foundation 2 x Leandro) with 72.565%. All five judges were unanimous with their placings across the top three, making it a very clear podium.
