Equestrian events at Paris 2024 Olympics to be held at Versailles
The palace of Louis XIV will provide a fabulous backdrop for Olympic and Paralympic horse sport at the 2024 Paris Games, with organisers confirming that all equestrian events (dressage, eventing, jumping, Para-dressage and the modern pentathlon) will take place at Versailles.
A temporary 20,000-seat area will be built at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, ensuring there is ample room for spectators.
Organisers have recently cut costs on some venue plans for the Olympics due to repercussions from Covid-19, however the equestrian venue remains unchanged — apart from the cross country spectator capacity being revised form 80,000 to 62,000.
The Games are due to take place from 26 July to 11 August, 2024.
