Equestrian Life’s April issue is out now!

In the latest issue, we review the action from Dressage & Jumping with the Stars and catch up with Robbie McKinnon, who piloted six-year-old SPH Fortino (aka Frank) to claim the title of Young Dressage Horse Champion of Champions.

While in the dressage arena, we share some exciting news from Jayden Brown and also meet Jodie Dunstan – whose horse Hollands Bend Highlander has piqued the interest of many at recent events. In Ryan’s Rave, Heath unpacks the dressage selection criteria ahead of the World Championship and identifies ten combinations in contention.

We also chat to US-based Aussie showjumper Lauren Balcomb, find out what’s next for young eventer Jessica Rae, and check in on retired eventing great Algebra; from retired OTTs to those still making a splash in the competition arena, we then head to the Show Horse Nationals to meet two stylish stars. Up in Scone, the NCHA Autumn Spectacular saw the nation’s top cutting horses in action – and we bring you the results!

Also in the April edition, Kerry Mack tells of the importance of making mistakes, veterinarian Dr Maxine Brain puts us at ease about Japanese encephalitis in horses, and Ellie Jolley previews a new product from Hygain that has the potential to ensure your horse absorbs its feed better and protects its digestive system. We also look back on EQ Life’s history of live streaming events, while Suzy Jarratt revisits Steven Spielberg in the trenches for the making of his epic War Horse. Happy reading!
