Aussies in action at the FEI Young Horse Eventing Championships

There were a number of Australian riders in action at the FEI World Breeding Federation Eventing Championships for Young Horses in Lion d’Angers, France.

Six-year-old championship

In the six-year-old class, Chris Burton was the highest ranked Australian rider on Coup De Coeur Dudevin; the pair finished on 29.8 in seventh place.

Kevin McNab and Grantstown Joules finished 13th on 33.3.

Gold went to Great Britain’s Kitty King and Cristal Fontaine on 25.4; silver went to Piggy French and Emerald Jonny, also of Great Britain, on 25.8; and bronze went to the USA’s Elisabeth Halliday-Sha and Cooley Moonshine on 26.4.

Seven-year-old championship

Andrew Hoy was the sole Aussie representative in the seven-year-old class. Riding Bloom Des Hauts Crets, Hoy finished 17th on a score of 36.9.

Gold went to Ingrid Klimke and Asha P of Germany on 25.3; silver went to Tom Jackson and Capels Hollow Drift for Great Britain on 27.8; and bronze went to France’s Astier Nicolas on Babylon De Gamma on 29.4.
