Izabella Stone & Oaks Ventriloquist win EQUITANA Jumping Grand Prix
By Equestrian Life
Well they were the runners-up for the Australian Senior Title at the Australian Jumping Championships last weekend, and this morning Izabella Stone and Oaks Ventriloquist went one better in winning the EQUITANA Jumping Grand Prix.
The pair were one of only two double clears in the class, stopping the clock at 63.96 in the second round to edge out Brook Dobbin and Gina MVNZ — the only other double clear — who posted a time of 66.99 seconds.
The Australian Jumping Championships continued to provide good form, with the Mini Prix Finals winners, Will Dight and Thea, placing third here today with just the one rail down in the first round and the quickest time in the second round.
Fourth place in the EQUITANA Jumping Grand Prix went to our newly crowned Australian Senior Champions, Tom McDermott and Cachassini II, who were also quick in round two but carried over four faults from the first round.
The EQUITANA Jumping Grand Prix featured an impressive $51,500 prize pool, with Izabella taking home $15,000 for her winning ride — as well as a further $2000 for her seventh place finish with Tulara Stolzette. Congratulations Izabella!
