Jack Barker Secures Back-to-Back Titles as Billy Raymont Dominates the World Cup Qualifier

Day 3 of the Summer Showjumping Classic CSI-W delivered key results in some of the event’s most highly anticipated classes, including the Chatham Park Cup World Cup Qualifier and the Stal Tops Australian Young Rider Final.

“These wins, they run deep”

The rain couldn’t deter some of Australia’s top showjumpers, as the small but quality field put on a show in the Magic Millions Arena at Summer Classic. Billy Raymont and Caprino showcased their season’s form in the Chatham Park Cup, World Cup Qualifier CSI-W 1.50m, securing first place with a faultless round and a time of 62.260 seconds.

Reflecting on his strategy, Raymont was quick to praise Capri, “Caprino is jumping fantastic…he’s just in hot form.”

Second place went to Jamie Kermond and Tulara Stolensky with 4 faults in a time of 65.820 seconds, while Josh Collins and Cornel took third with 4 faults and a time of 68.340 seconds.

The win marks the start of what could be a life-changing journey, as Billy looks to a trip to Europe, ” Even after a long time in the sport, you’re still hungry for that kind of (International) competition, probably more so now than anything, because we get to do this year in and year out. But to go and do that, it’s it’s a bit of a dream.

“It’s a massive thing financially and logistically to put together, but I’m hopeful we can get to Europe…rock up in Basel and mix it with those guys.” He was quick to thank his team, owners, and family for their support, “our owners, my wife Tess, and the whole team are behind me—it’s real and this win runs deep.”

Super Junior Qualifier 1.20m–1.25m

Olivia Hewitt-Toms and Artemis C claimed victory in the hotly contested Super Junior Qualifier with a jump-off time of 31.900 seconds. Jack Barker and Tulara for Quinar followed closely in second, finishing in 32.100 seconds, whilst Jake Tomlinson and Carina rounded out the top three in 32.750 seconds.

Stal Tops Young Rider Final 1.30m

Jack Barker and Tulara Colchic delivered a winning performance in the final leg of the Stal Tops Australian Young Rider Series, securing first place with a jump-off time of 48.810 seconds. Entering the day, Charlie Magnier led the series standings, but his absence opened the door for Barker to claim back-to-back Championship titles.

Cody Tincknell and Numero Too placed second with 4 faults in 42.960 seconds, while Barker also took third aboard Bellhaven Calisco in 49.010 seconds with 4 faults.
