Jacqueline Wing Ying Siu has won the individual gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games. The event that occurs every four years between the Olympic Games took place at the International Equestrian Park (JIEP) Pulomas, Jakarta.
Jacqueline and her 13-year-old Rhinelander gelding, JC Fuerst on Tour scored an impressive winning score of 77.045 percent. The victory was a momentous one for Hong Kong, as it is the first gold medal won by a Hong Kong representative at these games in 36 years.
Jacqueline has also been nominated to compete at the upcoming World Equestrian Games in Tryon on the 15-year-old mare Ferrera in a few weeks time.
The silver went to Mahamad Fathil Mohd Qabil Ambak from Malaysia on Rosenstolz, with a score of 76.620 percent. The bronze medal went to South Korea’s Hyeok Kim on Degas K with 75.705 percent.
