Partnered with horse Eldorado 139 and German lunger Sophie Kuhn for the championship, 17-year-old Sahara Weil was awarded 6.617 in the Compulsory Test and 6.081 in the Free Test. This gave the young Australian, who has been vaulting since the age of ten, an average of 6.349 – and while this wasn’t quite enough to progress to the final, it was an admirable score to have produced on the world stage.

“Being part of the World Championships and representing my country on such a stage was an unforgettable experience — one that taught me so much about myself as a vaulter, as a person, and about this incredible sport,” says Weil. “I’m excited to keep pushing and growing from here, and I’m looking forward to chasing big goals and attending future World Championships!”

Josephine Vedel Søndergaard Nielsen added a World title to her name in the Female Individual division, the first Junior World gold ever for Denmark.

In the Junior Male competition, Henry Frischmuth proved unstoppable for Germany. The squad from Austria won the Junior title for the first time in a decade, and Flora Maurer and Larissa Jobstl held their overnight lead to win the Junior Pas de deux a second gold for Austria.

Arne Heers topped the Male Young Vaulter class bringing the World title to Germany for the first time, while Anna Weidenauer achieved the same in the Female competition for Austria.

FEI European Vaulting Championship for Seniors

Germany’s Katrin Meyer and Quentin Jabet from France both successfully defended their European titles at the FEI Vaulting Senior Championship.  The formidable senior squad from Germany also take home the European gold medal for the third successive time.

The European Senior title in Pas de deux went to Rebecca Greggio and Davide Zanella (ITA) – the only gold of the championships for Italy. The Nations Team competition ended the event in spectacular style. Team Germany took home the gold medal once again as Alina Ross, Kathrin Meyer and the German squad outshone the other teams.
