By Equestrian Life
Australian Simone Pearce and Fiderdance have completed their CHIO Aachen campaign after riding their CDIO5* Grand Prix Freestyle test today, achieving a score of 74.920% for 15th place.
It was a fabulous event for the pair, who have only been together a very short amount of time and with only a couple of previous competitions to their name. Simone and ‘Fidel’ were part of the Australian Nations Cup team — alongside Mary Hanna and Lyndal Oatley — that finished in eighth place, with Simone scoring 72.261% in the Grand Prix for 16th place individually and 72.936% in the Special for 11th place individually against some of the biggest names in the sport.
Congratulations Simone and Fidel!
The Freestyle was won by Denmark’s Cathrine Dufour riding Vamos Amigos to a score of 88.375%. Cathrine has had a phenomenal show, taking a clean sweep of the CDIO5* classes and also claiming the CDI4* Grand Prix and Freestyle tests with Bohemian.
Second place in the CDIO5* Freestyle was Frederic Wanders and Duke of Britain FRH on 83.880%, while Daniel Bachmann Andersen was third on Marshall-Bell with 82.985%. A full FEI report on the class is still to come.
