Top riders set for CPH Dressage Extravaganza at Boneo Park

Kicking off this Friday at Boneo Park, the CPH Dressage Extravaganza incorporates the 2025 Australian Para Dressage Championships and will include both CPEDI3* and CDI3* classes – offering combinations 2026 FEI World Championship qualifying opportunities.

Beginning this Friday at Boneo Park, the Carlton Performance Horses (CPH) Dressage Extravaganza (14-16 November) is set to attract elite-level competitors from around Australia.

Incorporating the 2025 Australian Para Dressage Championships, the event features a lineup of 28 Para Dressage entries – of which 19 are competing at CPEDI3* level and will therefore be vying for 2026 FEI World Championship qualifying scores.

It is the first World Championship qualifier, and riders will be looking to put strong performances on the board to open their campaigns. In the November issue of Equestrian Life, Paralympian Emma Booth takes a closer look at this week’s event, the Para Dressage selection process, the athletes involved, and the Australian selectors for the LA Paralympic cycle – which includes the 2026 World Championships in Aachen.

CPEDI2* classes are also on offer at Boneo, providing valuable international-level competition experience for up-and-coming Para Dressage combinations.

A further four Virtus athletes will also be in action, as Australia continues to lead the way when it comes to live Virtus Equestrian events.

CDI competition

CPH Dressage Extravaganza is also hosting a CDI, with 33 entries across the levels – including nine in the CDI3* where they have the opportunity to secure 2026 FEI World Championship qualifying scores. Further international-level classes will include Under 25 (CDI-U25), Young Rider (CDI-Y), Junior (CDI-J), Pony (CDI-P), and Children (CDI-Ch).

Reigning Australian Grand Prix Champions Jayden Brown and Quincy B will contest their first CDI at the venue and lead the CDI3* field alongside 2024 Paris Olympic reserves Mary Hanna and Ivanhoe – with the six-time Olympian also saddling up CJP Sir Dragonfire II.

They will be joined by eventer-turned-dressage rider Hannah Rockwell and her mare Baumann’s Diorella, who are stepping up from the CDI-U25 division to CDI3* for the first time. The duo had their first Grand Prix start at Willinga Park earlier this year, with Hannah training the mare from a green Medium-level horse to Big Tour.

Now based in Romsey, Victoria, Heather Currie is entered with her Wunderbar Black 59, as are fellow Victorian combinations Caroline Wagner and Ibicus, and Janet Seccull with Bloomfield Vegas.

Jodie Dunstan with Hollands Bend Highlander and Tanisha Ryan with Prequel, both from NSW, round out the CDI3* field.

The CPH Dressage Extravaganza is also holding classes across the EA levels from Preliminary to Advanced, as well as young horse classes.

Draws will be available via Equipe.
