Team XL was dominant once again in the dressage phase with a leading score of 36.92. They were then second-best team in the Marathon (88.46) and seventh in the Cones (3.8) – which was enough to see them secure a comfortable overall win on 129.06. Second place went to Dutch driver Bram Chardon on 138.60.
Boyd’s team across all three phases included Celviro (Vulcano x Waterman), Hero (Nando x Unita S), Maestro H (Sir Arie x Victory) and Mister Bono Van ‘T Hooge (Delviro HBC x Victory). Eight-year-old KWPN stallion Mister Bono Van ‘T Hooge was a debutant on Boyd’s team.
“We were delighted with the first place result and are thankful for our team of people at the show supporting,” said Team XL via social media following the event.
Boyd’s compatriot Tor Van Den Berge was also entered in the class, placing 18th on 177.20. The Australian team, comprised of Boyd and Tor, placed fourth overall and were less than a point off the podium.

Next stop for Team XL will be Royal Windsor Horse Show (15-18 May), where Boyd will be aiming for a 15th victory. His team at Windsor will be Daan 8, Hero, Jelviro, Mad Max 81, and Mister Bono Van ‘T Hooge.

Team XL has also announced that Magic Millions is the latest sponsor to join the team.
