Bellhaven Catoo jumps up the leaderboard in the Seven-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse Round Two
The Seven-Year-Old Young Jumping Horses were first to take to the young horse arena this morning. Rhys Hamlyn’s nomination of Bellhaven Catoo claimed the class with a score of 85.13, achieving an 8.5 for technique, 8.8 for scope and 9.0 for ride. Bred by Deborah Heindl at Bellhaven Stud in the Noosa Hinterland, Bellhaven Catoo is by Chacoon Blue out of the Plot Blue-sired mare Intimacy Blue. The eye-catching grey gelding impressed the panel of judges, with Vicki Roycroft commenting, “That horse jumped a fabulous round. He looked super, he’s careful and scopey and copes with the pace. That was a very impressive round.”
Second place went to Ally Lamb and Diatava DP with a score of 83.57. Bred by Andrew and Ally Lamb at Denison Park, Diatava DP is by Emerald out of Spartava DP, a highly successful mare who was campaigned to Grand Prix level by Andrew.
Third place in today’s Seven-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse Round Two went to Sarah-Louise McMillan and Dubrovnik with a score of 83.37. Bred by Glenara Park Stud and Sarah-Louise McMillan, Dubrovnik is by Glenara Sir Bollinger out of Belcam Armada, with a dam sire of Belcam Agassi. Rewarded for consistency over the first two rounds of competition, Dubrovnik and Sarah-Louise McMillan will enter tomorrow’s final as the second highest ranked combination behind yesterday’s round one winners, Allira Bond and Yalambi’s Ohranj.
Kellogs impresses judges on day two of the Six-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse
Chloe Latham and Kellogs leapt to the top of the class in today’s Six-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse, recording a huge score of 88.0. Awarded a 9.0 for technique, 8.5 for scope and a 9.0 for ride, Jeff McVean commented, “She jumped super today, that was really impressive. She is a more modern type horse and will be very fast against the clock. A lovely round with a jump that looked explosive.”
Bred by Chloe Latham and Melinda Hughes, Kellogs is by Diamont De Quidam out of Balumiere, a Balou Du Rouet-sired mare.
Second place went to yesterday’s Round One winners, Stuart Brennan and RBH Carnac, with a second day score of 86.73. Bred by Russell and Bernie Hearn at RBH Park, RBH Carnac is by Charlemagne Ego Z out of the Perigueux-sired mare RBH Paris. Stuart and RBH Carnac will enter tomorrow’s final round of competition in poll position with a tally of 172.36 after the first two days of competition.
Third place went to Tanner Robinson and Smokey VR, the third and final clear jumping round of the competition, in a score of 80.83. Owned and campaigned by Tanner Robinson, Smokey VR is by Cassiago out of a Premier De Heyettes-sired mare.

Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z and Frida Lindgren raise the bar in the Five-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse
Frida Lindgren and her nomination of Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z have positioned themselves as the firm favourites heading into tomorrow’s final of the Five-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse Championship. The impressive chestnut Zangersheide registered stallion led the class yesterday with a score 87.17. Today, he and Frida recorded the highest score of the event so far to finish on 92.27, awarded a 9.0 for technique, 9.5 for scope and a 9.5 for ride. Owned by Lever Equestrian and Georgia Solomon, Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z was bred by Paul Lavers and Hugette Exelmans in the Netherlands. By Dieu Merci Van T&L out of Dancing Margrit De Rock 1 Z, with a dam sire of Dominator 2000 Z, Dancing Star De Rock 1 Z is the culmination of some of Europe’s most successful bloodlines.
On their performance today, Vicki Roycroft shared, “Frida, you’ve made my day! What a lovely round that was, that is a classy horse. He is a very, very nice horse and has jumped as well, if not better than yesterday, and it was a pleasure to watch.” Very high praise from a true legend of the sport.
Interestingly, the top three remained unchanged from yesterday’s first round of competition with Phillip Lever and City Limits 111 (89.73) and Josh Collins and Dourkhan’s Dream (88.37) once again claiming second and third position.
Four-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse Round Two sees a new leader atop the scoreboard
Glenara Aganix Australis GE and Sienna Holdsworth-Rose have claimed the second round of the Four-Year-Old Young Jumping Horse with a score of 87.47. Awarded a 9.0 for technique, 8.8 for scope and 9.0 for ride, Glenara Aganix Australis GE, owned by Sienna’s mother Tonya Holdsworth-Rose, was bred by Melissa Froesch at Glenara Park Stud. By Aganix du Seigneur out of the Vivant-sired mare Rosehill Park Vivallini, he was today commended on his scope and technique.
Second place went to Mt Robinson’s Qasting and Tanner Robinson with a score of 86.1. Bred by Tanner’s mother Airlie Robinson, Mt Robinson’s Qasting is by Casting out of Mt Robinson’s Quitana Z. Third place went to yesterday’s winner, Elvorado Ter Putte Z and Jennifer Wood, with a score of 83.83.
Young Jumping Ponies
They may be small in stature, but the Young Jumping Ponies proved they have what it takes to make great competitors.
In the Four-Year-Old Young Jumping Pony, supported by Dalgangle Welsh Mountain Pony Stud, Tayla Anderson and Burrowa Baloo claimed the class with a score of 78.67. Bred by Burrowa Stud and owned by Tayla Anderson, Burrowa Baloo is by Burrowa Achilles Gold out of Burrowa Alethia.
Second place went to Peaches N Cream campaigned by Megan Joyce on a score of 72.17. Bred by Cindy Morrison, the palomino mare is by Exmoor Orion out of Willow. Third place went to Bellaview Adelle and Darcy Clifford with a score of 64.33.
In the Five-Year-Old Young Jumping Pony, supported by Walkenny Park Equine Herbs, Calveston Anastasia and Neka Paterson finished on top with a score of 79.83. Bred by Tracie Borg, Calveston Anastasia is by Glenormiston Turlough out of Wynchwood Graceful Swan.
Second place went to Ivy Williams and Boonahburra Freedom (sired by Boonahburra Apollo out of Glenormiston Lisheen) in a score of 63.83, ahead of Charlie Germein and LR Legacy (breeding unknown) who finished on 51.0.
In the Barton Equine-supported Six-Year-Old Young Jumping Pony, Assenmachers Diamond Sugar and Tara Rodgers finished atop the leaderboard with a score of 80.83. Bred by Silke Assenmacher and owned by Vicki Chidgey, Assemachers Diamond Sugar is by Heitholmes Dance Away out of Golden Sugar A.
Second place went to Elm Tree Obama and Garry Kermond with a score of 80.83. Bred by Elm Tree Stud, Elm Tree Obama is sired by Balgower Maverick out of Jill. Mighty Mia and Stacey Edwards rounded out the top three with a score of 68.0.
Current stars shine on day two of competition
In the Yandoo Park Arena, action commenced with the open 110cm, with Queenslanders Clem Smith and Wheres Cameron claiming the class (0-0/31.44). Russell Johnstone and Yalambi’s Neptune (0-0/33.32) and Stephanie Bacon with For Your Eyes Only (0-0/33.61) rounded out the top three.
Hugh Buchanan and Waitangi Neon continued their good form to claim the Open 120cm (0-0/34.58) ahead of Daniel Leach and Glenara Cover Up (0-0/35.01). Brooke Hickey finished in third with Kentaur Coconut (0-0/35.43).
The Open 145cm saw another win here at DJWTS to Frida Lindgren, this time with Wondaree Colleen (0/69.04), who edged out Paige Mcbain with Charlotta II (0/72.62) and Rhys Stones with Ballentyne (0/73.97).
At the General Purpose Arena, Indy Hill was first and second in the Friends of POP Current Stars Pony 80cm Round One on Vancouver Park Royal Secret (0-0/39.35) and Spring Rain (0-0/44.79). Jessica Olinder and Kimberely Park Sinatra rounded out the top three (0-0/50.38).
Stephanie Bacon and Glenormiston Silver Seamus (0-0/40.80) were victorious in the Friends of POP Current Stars Pony 100cm Round One. Mia Kermond and Elm Tree Magician finished in second place (0-0/42.51) ahead of Penelope Mawhinney and Blackwood Bo Peep who finished in third (0-0/43.50).
