Australian Para Grade IV rider Tilda Carnegie has enjoyed a successful European debut for Boccelli 6 at the CPEDI3* in Waregem, Belgium over the weekend.
Riding the 16-year-old Warmblood gelding, Tilda competed in the Grade IV Team Test on Friday scoring 69.900% to finish 5th out of a competitive field of 16 combinations.
“A few mistakes but really pleased with our efforts for first time abroad and we managed to produce correct harmonious work. My cochlear implant moved when I was riding the test, so I couldn’t hear anything,” said Tilda.
Maintaining their performance level, Tilda and Boccelli collected an almost identical score in the Individual test on Saturday, scoring 69.049% to finish 6th.
“Can’t ask for a better European debut, we have also made it into the Freestyle,” said Tilda after her ride. “Boccelli was a very good boy as always and as always super reliable. He lives for the big atmospheres. As always plenty to improve upon but we will keep working on it. It is such a privilege to compete against so many amazing riders and fly the Aussie flag high and proud.”
On Sunday, Tilda and Boccelli rode a cracking Freestyle test to finish with a score of 70.875% to again finish 5th place in the field!
“Today was freestyle day and we managed to crack the magical 70% barrier,” said Tilda. “It hasn’t been the world’s easiest lead up with me getting Covid, dealing with mental health issues and other personal issues, which happens to all of us, so I am pretty pleased that we have managed a really solid week against stiff competition. Sometimes you have pull it out of the bag no matter what has happened.”
Congratulations to Tilda, Boccelli, and her team on an excellent European debut!
