CCI5*L trot up completed Wednesday
The first horse inspection marked the start of the Longines Luhmühlen Horse Trials (12-16 June) on Wednesday in Germany. When breeches and riding boots are switched for dresses and suits, it’s time for the first horse inspection. The ground jury, consisting of Anne-Mette Binder (DEN), Sandy Phillips (GBR) and Dr. Joachim Dimmek (GER) as well as Dr. Jürgen Mertens, checked the horses’ soundness. All combinations presented themselves in excellent condition and were declared “fit to compete”. Only two horses were sent to the “holding box” by the officials, but received their “accepted” the second time around.
World-class eventers such as Tim Price from New Zealand, multiple world- and European champions such as Laura Collett and Yasmin Ingham as well as other top stars from Great Britain, Germany, France, Ireland and many other nations will be competing in the Longines CCI5*-L over the next few days. The German colours will be represented by Luhmühlen based Nicolai Aldinger with the 14-year-old Holsteiner gelding Timmo and Libussa Lübbeke with the 14-year-old Hanoverian mare Caramia 34.
