Ben Atkinson and Georgie Jackson tie the knot
On Saturday 19th November Yorkshire-based horse trainer Ben Atkinson married Georgie Jackson and in doing so started a new chapter of the UK’s most exciting stunt couple.
Ben comes from a long line of horsemen. Riding stunt work by age nine, the now-28-year-old runs the live displays and specialist training side of the family business, Atkinson Action Horses, which has been providing horses for film, TV, photoshoots and live events for over 25 years. Georgie, a farrier, is a talented dressage rider who’s become very much a part of Atkinson Action Horses in recent years.

“If being a farrier from a family of farriers wasn’t enough to make Georgie the perfect wife for a horse addict, her talents as a dressage rider and fearlessness in the saddle made her the perfect candidate to join the Atkinson Action Horses family,” says Ben. “As a couple we’ve already had so many bucket list worthy adventures together performing in front of thousands, but nothing that could ever compare to the day of our wedding. We have even managed to work horses into our honeymoon and in January our next adventure will take us to the remote island of Nihi Sumba where we will be training the wild horses of Nihi!”

“We got married in my beautiful parish church St Mary’s in Sand Hutton,” says Georgie. “It’s the church I grew up in, went to school with and played Mary in the nativity.
“Once the service was finished we headed up to Howsham Hall, just outside of York, which also had some special memories to me as a child as I swam in the river at the house every summer growing up. Howsham was beautiful, everything we could have hoped for, the food was amazing, the company was even better and the dance floor was incredibly busy with some very questionable dancing.
“We were surrounded by our closest friends, family and the mentors that made us who we are today. After having such a public engagement it was so nice to just have our nearest and dearest with us.”
