Brisbane teen Maleah Lang-McMahon jets off to Florida showjumping circuit

The Brisbane Olympics in 2032 is just a decade away, and rising showjumping star Maleah Lang-McMahon has her sights firmly set on it.

But first, the 17-year-old must tackle the competitive winter showjumping circuit in Florida, in the United States. 

Flying out of Brisbane with her mother and three horses on Tuesday, Lang-McMahon said she was ready for the challenges ahead, with her mare PSS Chantilly and gelding Finch Farm Carlsberg.

“I’ve always had a passion for horses,” Lang-McMahon told ABC Radio Brisbane.

Several other Australian riders have also left home soil for America this week, with showjumper James Arkins among them.
