British Equestrian suspends competitions in England as four-week lockdown commences
All organised British Equestrian training events and competitions are now suspended in England for the duration of the four week lockdown until 2 December inclusive, as Covid-19 cases increase across Europe.
However, the restrictions are not as tight as what England experienced in March and April. It has been confirmed that you can continue to exercise, including riding, either on your own, with people you live with, with your support bubble or one person from another household.
Members will still be able to continue attending to and caring for their horse on welfare and veterinary grounds, while coaches are permitted to continue to deliver one to one training for their clients on an individual basis.
Furthermore, stables and riding centres can remain open, however they must comply with overarching legislation, including strict Covid-19 protocols.
Shows and training in Scotland can continue under the five tier system, with travel restrictions in place, while the 17 day ‘firebreak’ lockdown in Wales remains in place until Monday 9 November, when new national restrictions will be in force.
