Carl Hester gains catch ride ahead of Herning
It has been confirmed that Carl Hester’s top horse, En Vogue, is unfortunately out of the running for a place on the British team at the FEI World Championships in Herning this August after sustaining an injury this month. Requiring six weeks off, he will not be back in work in time to campaign ahead of the event and Carl will instead focus on the goal of competing him at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
However, Horse & Hound has reported that Carl has a catch ride on the Kroll family’s KK Woodstock, a 16-year-old son of Wolkentanz II who is usually campaigned by fellow British teammate Gareth Hughes. Gareth fully supports Carl taking over the ride for the summer, and plans to campaign Classic Briolinca and Sintano Van Hof Olympia for the World Championships; he’ll retake the reins of KK Woodstock following the Herning campaign. How’s that for teamwork!
Carl and KK Woodstock have a competition debut planned for June.
