The Wellington International Festival of Dressage took place 5-11 June in the UK, with Charlotte Dujardin continuing her successful return to the competition arena.
“Not sure if it’s just the addition of having (daughter) Isabella with us now, or just being back out competing after a long time away. Definitely both! This weekend was a successful one at Wellington Riding School who, once again, ran such a super show,” said Charlotte following the event.
The British Olympian had numerous wins across the weekend, including with her own and Carl Hester’s Hawtins San Floriana in the Inter II with 76.7%; Peter Belshaw’s Times Kismet in the CDI1* PSG with 77.6% and the Inter I with 77.8%; Alive and Kicking in the Freestyle Gold with 78.3%; and Coral Ingham and Carl Hester’s Imhotep in the CDI3* Grand Prix with 80.1% and the Special with 80.8%. Not a bad few days at the office!
“I can’t put into words how proud I am of these horses who just get better each and every week,” said Charlotte.
Australia’s Jayden Brown was also in action at Wellington, riding Terry Snow’s WillingaPark Quincy B to second place from over 30 starters in the Premier League FEI Grand Prix S on Friday with 70.254%.
Jayden also contested the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle on Saturday with Sky Diamond, finishing seventh on 70.96%. The pair were also 17th on 66.478% earlier in the Grand Prix.
Congratulations Jayden!
