Subzero, the much loved 31-year-old retired racehorse is recovering from a serious bout of colic. The 1992 Melbourne Cup winner showed signs of colic earlier this week, but has since been treated and is now back on track for recovery.

The Victorian Equine Group posted a statement to Facebook on the 22nd of July 2019 which read, “They’re as tough as each other! Subzero gave us a scare yesterday when he suffered from a severe bout of colic. Mike and Sarah attended him yesterday afternoon, and Graham nursed him through the night, checking on him every two hours. Fortunately the old boy seems as tough as Graham, who has also had a hard time recently. Subbie has been checked over this morning, treated again, and is back on track”.

Equestrian Life wishes Subzero a speedy recovery!
