There is nothing quite like the excitement and anticipation of a horse show, and The Saddlefitter Brisbane CDI never disappoints competitors and spectators alike!

Competition began today at the Queensland State Equestrian Centre in Caboolture under a somewhat gloomy sky, but the riders and horses lit up the day in the arena.

Of course, the horses were a little unsettled on the first day of competition and some were still working out their jitters in the arena which caused a few scores to drop.

However, overall the level of competition was excellent with some very exciting up-and-coming horses and combinations on display.

Kicking off the action for Equestrian Life’s livestream from the main arena, Serena Ireland and ROYALTY R secured the win in the Martin Collins Open CDN Prix St Georges with a score of 72.235.

In 2nd place was Hillary Mcgregor-potter riding KARABIL PARK SIR JAZZ on 68.824% and Sheridyn Ashwood and ASHWOOD PARK PRESCOTT followed extremely close behind to finish 3rd with 68.794%. Marvin Smink and HOTRUSCHELS TAONGA claimed 4th on a score of 66.353, with Gary Lung and WINDHILL WISDOM finishing 5th on 65.706. See the full results from the Prix St Georges here

Later in the afternoon, the Future Farms Open CDN Intermediate II saw some lovely performances, especially when you consider that some of these horses have not had the opportunity for many outings and competition as their trained up to this level due to Covid. The top place in this class went to Victoria Welch and the gorgeous BELLAGIO 11 (IMP) on 64.912%.

The 2nd and 3rd places were again closely contested in this class with Julie Bland and JORDAN just beating Robyne Smith and GWANDALAN LUCA to finish 63.971% to 63.294%. Kate Wilson and DCOEUR NOBLE narrowly grabbed 4th place on 63.265%, leaving Karen Crommelin & ELITE DESTINY to claim 5th on 63.235%. See the full results of the CDN Intermediate II here.
