Downtown sold to Rosalind and Kristy Oatley

Helgstrand Dressage has announced that champion young horse Downtown (by Hesselhøj Donkey Boy/Zack) has been sold to Rosalind and Kristy Oatley and will ridden by Kristy’s daughter, Rose.

Downtown was crowned 2021 World Champion of the 5-year-olds, and this year at the FEI / WBFSH World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses he was ridden by Sweden’s Jeanna Högberg to finish runner-up to Global Player OLD in the 6YO Championship.

“Rose has made a great start as a junior rider on Rock Revolution and Veneno. But because it takes time to build a new partnership, we have chosen to search for a young horse that she can get to know while continuing to compete with Rocky and Veneno,” said Kristy Oatley. “It’s hard to find a well-trained horse, so we decided to look for a promising young horse to move up the levels. There is no doubt that Downtown has the potential to go far in the sport with Rose, and at the same time he also seems to have the right work attitude and a great personality.”
