Dressage Royalty Valegro will lead the Parade of Champions at this year’s Badminton Horse Trials, which will be made up of other British medal-winning horses led out on the first day of the dressage competition.
The 18-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding has been a formidable dressage champion under the guidance of his British rider, Charlotte Dujardin.
Valegro has won individual Gold medals at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics and gathered a world-wide following of adoring fans.
In 2018, the FEI credited Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro as being the world’s most successful Dressage duo, who have inspired a new generation of young dressage riders.
Valegro’s appearance at Badminton, which is one of the UK’s most highly anticipated and prestigious equestrian events of the year, will draw even more spectators to the event.
Set within the beautiful grounds of Badminton Estate in South Gloucestershire, the three-phase event has helped produce some of the most successful horse and rider combinations since the competition began in 1949.
The 2020 Badminton Horse Trials will be from Wednesday the 6th to Sunday the 10th of May, with the highly anticipated Parade of Champions taking place on Thursday the 7th at midday.
The funds from the Trials’ charity, via the British Equestrian Federation Fund, will go towards the Great Britain Team for this year’s Tokyo Olympics.
