Edwina Tops-Alexander to compete at LGCT London
By Equestrian Life
Australian showjumping star Edwina Tops-Alexander will saddle up two horses at the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) of London, just over a week since competing at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Edwina competed at Tokyo with mare Identity Vitseroel in the Individual Qualifier, where just one unlucky rail meant they unfortunately didn’t progress to the Individual Final.
“This weekend I’m excited to compete in LGCT London with Fellow (Castlefield) and Conisha (Des Forets)! It’s been a few years since I’ve been to London so I’m really looking forward to competing there with Team Valkenswaard United!” said Edwina.
Competing for Valkenswaard United this weekend will be team gold and individual silver medallist from Tokyo, Swede Peder Fredricson, alongside Italy’s Alberto Zorzi.
“Valkenswaard United is currently in the overall lead in the teams ranking and we will try to stay up there. Stay tuned for some exciting action to come,” said Edwina.
Royal Hospital Chelsea will once again be the unique and prestigious venue for the London leg of the LGCT. The high calibre event features endless big names, including Tokyo’s individual gold medallist, Ben Maher.
