Emma Booth set to campaign for the FEI World Championships from Germany
Australian Paralympian Emma Booth has announced that she’ll be campaigning for the upcoming FEI World Championships from Germany, with fellow Aussie Maree Tomkinson giving her the opportunity to ride two horses from her stable — Friday IV (owned by Lyn and Mark Sultana in conjunction with Maree) and Fürst Deluxe (owned by Maree).
Fürst Deluxe is a nine-year-old by Fürstenball who has been competing Small Tour, while Friday IV is a six-year-old also by Fürstenball and out of Maree’s great mare Diamantina; Maree rode Friday at last year’s World Young Horse Championships in the five-year-old division.
“A few of you might be wondering why I’ve been so quiet on socials recently, and the reason is that I’ve been keeping a secret… I’m currently in Germany!” said Emma via social media.
“An incredible opportunity presented itself and I’m so glad I said yes. I am campaigning for the World Championships on two of Maree Tomkinson’s extremely beautiful and talented horses, Friday IV and Furst Deluxe.
“I’m enjoying the journey and pinching myself that I’m over here. I can’t thank Maree enough for this life changing opportunity, or Paige Drake for dropping everything to come over and help me. Bring on qualifiers in Netherlands and Belgium in June.”
Maree has been based at Zetta Sport in Germany since travelling there in February with her team.
We look forward to following both Emma and Maree’s journeys over the next few months — go Aussies!
