Representatives of the boards of Equestrian Australia (EA) and state and territory branches met in Melbourne to discuss the future direction of the sport.

The meeting provided the opportunity to introduce the new Equestrian Australia CEO, Ms Lucy Warhurst to the branches.

Delegates acknowledged the challenges of delivering quality services for the range of equestrian sports across the country.

The meeting was conducted in a spirit of robust, heartfelt and honest conversation and many contentious topics were debated, enabling progress.

The meeting affirmed a strong commitment to work in a unified way in the best interests of our diverse membership.

The meeting also agreed to establish a national coaching committee, building on work already underway in some states.

Further details will be announced by Ms Warhurst next week.

All branches and EA agreed to continue to work closely over the coming weeks to develop key deliverables and outcomes in the lead up to the Annual General Meeting in November.
