FEI Driving World Championship Four-In-Hand back on the cards

By Equestrian Life

The FEI have announced that the previously cancelled FEI Driving World Championship Four-In-Hand will now take place in Valkenswaard (NED) 7-11 October, 2020.

The Championship, which had originally been scheduled to take place in Kronenberg (NED) in September 2020, were cancelled due to the impact of Covid-19.

In a post to Facebook, our Equestrian High Performance team have explained the reallocation of the Championships:

“Following the recommendation by the Driving Task Force to find a solution to hold the Championship in 2020, the Dutch Organisers and National Federation contacted the FEI offering to host the Championship. The Chair of the Driving Committee presented Valkenswaard’s application during the FEI Board meeting three-day videoconference and it was agreed by the Board that the Organisers at Valkenswaard will host the FEI Driving World Championship four in hand from 7–11 October 2020.”

Qualification criteria is yet to be released by the FEI.

It is exciting to hear that the FEI Driving World Championship Four-In-Hand will go ahead this year. Valkenswaard is the home of legendary Australian driver Boyd Exell, and we are excited to see this event hosted at the amazing Driving Valkenswaard International (DVI)!
