Lynn Brierley’s horses are well-placed to help humans through therapy, because most have had a helping hand themselves.

Ms Brierley runs Kehsarra Clydesdale Rescue, at Tarpeena in South Australia’s south-east, taking in unwanted, homeless or sick Clydesdales from all over Australia.

Tears, sweat and hundreds of hours of hard work often go into rehabilitating them — but the gentle giants are repaying that by offering healing and comfort to people in need.

“We’ve turned their lives around and are using them as therapy horses,” Ms Brierley said…
