Australian Grand Prix rider Gitte Donvig has been hospitalised with a head injury after falling from a young horse.
“I am sitting by my daughter Gitte in the Royal Melbourne hospital. Yesterday she was airlifted from Macedon to the ICU, and put in an induced coma. She has severe concussion, from a fall off a young horse, but luckily was wearing a helmet. She is now out of the coma but with limited ability to communicate,”, explained GItte’s mother, Mary Hanna.
Gitte Donvig if an accomplished rider, who competes at Grand Prix level in Australia with her mothers 2014 World Equestrian Games ride, Sancette.
