Great start for Simone Pearce at World Young Horse Championships

Australian Simone Pearce has enjoyed a great start to the FEI/WBFSH World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses, riding Gestüt Sprehe’s Dancier Gold to fourth (from 48 combinations) in the 6-year-old Qualifier with a score of 8.40.

The class was won by Great Britain’s Charlotte Fry and Kjento on 9.40, with Spain’s Manuel Dominguez Bernal second on 9.20.

With the top 12 heading through to the Final, Simone and Dancier Gold will compete again on Saturday.

Simone also rode Gestüt Sprehe’s Diamond First in the 6-year-old Qualifier, finishing in 17th position on a score of 8.02. The pair now start in today’s Small Final.

Simone is also set to ride Quando Unico in the 7-year-old Qualifier on Friday.

Also in action today for Australia will be Maree Tomkinson and Friday IV, and Rebecca Rooke and Pour Andrig de Barroue, with both combinations riding in the 5-year-old Qualifier.

5-year-old Qualifier

11:44am local time (7.44pm AEST) – Rebecca Rooke and Pour Andrig de Barroue,
2:38pm local time (10.38pm AEST) – Maree Tomkinson and Friday IV

6-year-old Small Final

11:20am local time (7.20pm AEST) – Simone Pearce and Diamond First
