Australian carriage driver Tor Van Den Berge will contest his fourth FEI Driving World Championship for Pair Horses in Beekbergen, The Netherlands, from 20–24 August.

The Australian Veterinary Association has urged vigilance following confirmed detections of equine herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1) in horses in Townsville and Toowoomba. The highly contagious virus can cause respiratory illness, abortion, or rarely neurological disease – however humans are not at risk.

The equestrian community is reeling from the loss of a rider following a tragic accident at Aston-le-Walls Horse Trials in Northamptonshire, England, on Friday.
