James Arkins and Eurostar claim Victorian State Title
By Equestrian Life
The Victorian State Showjumping Championships took place last weekend at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre, with many of the country’s top combinations in action!
James Arkins and the talented eight year old stallion Eurostar claimed the Senior Championship Title after their brilliant and consistent performances across the Senior rounds. James had an incredibly successful weekend, also winning the Yandoo Park Speed Championship with Yalambi Jaguar, the 4Cyte Futurity Class, and the Australian Warmblood Horse Association (AWHA) Ltd High Point, as well as finishing runner up in Sunday’s Senior Final round. Congratulations James!
Jamie Kermond proved his experience on the final day, jumping the only double clear round aboard MS Galliano to take out the final round of the Senior competition – although it wasn’t enough to stop James Arkins taking home the overall title.
Anneliese Wansey and Kolora Stud St Patrick won the final class of the Young Rider Championship, however the continual strong performances of Jess Rice-Ward and CP Southern Cross proved to be the ultimate recipe for success with the pair declared the 2021 Victorian Young Rider Champions.
Zara Adnams and Digmac Disco King took out the Victorian Children’s Championship Title, while Lucy Locke and Diamont won the final round of the Juniors – and with consistent performances across the weekend, they were crowned the 2021 Victorian Junior Champions.
On the Brook Dobbin combined with 7-year-old mare Velvet Cate to take out the 4Cyte Stars of the Future Series Final, while the Kiernan Plant Hire Mini-Prix Series final was won by NSW based Jess Stones and Chatina JRE.
