With awe-inspiring, adrenaline-raising sport and picture-perfect weather, spectators and competitors alike were treated to the ultimate day out as Australia’s best took to Boneo Park for day two of the 2025 Pet Circle Australian Jumping Championships.
New South Welshman Charlie Magnier set the tone for the day with a stunning win in the Winnings Australian Junior Championship aboard Ogano in the Pet Circle Arena, with a cracking time of 57.89 seconds. Hot on his heels, Valentina Hercus of King Ranch Equestrian claimed second place aboard her nomination of Carousel GV (59.08). Magnier proved he is certainly one to watch come finals day, also securing third position aboard his second nomination of Quinn Z (59.20).

Flying finish for the next generation
In the hotly contested 4CYTE Australian Young Rider Championship – Round 2, Victorian Joel Lamb rode his family’s Eagle Rock to victory in a convincing win with a double clear and a time of 44.23 seconds in the jump-off. Previously campaigned with great success to World Cup level with Joel’s mother Ally Lamb, the 16-year-old grey stallion by Berlin has found himself back in the winner’s circle – this time with Joel in the saddle. Charlie Magnier continued his great form to finish in second place (48.62) aboard Notre Dame De Bourguignon, by Vigo d Arsouilles out of Ulla Van De Kwekenhoeve. Third place went to Queenslander Lorna Clifford (45.96) aboard her off-the-track Thoroughbred Waratone.
Winning-Kermond is the one to catch
In a stunning win Thursday afternoon, Jamie Winning-Kermond and Tulara WAT Colblensky proved exactly why they are crowd favourites coming into Saturday’s final of the Pet Circle Australian Senior Championship. Affectionately known around the stables as Juno, Tulara WAT Colblensky sired by Colman out of Tulara Cornetto, made light work of the David Sheppard-built track with a double clear and a time of 41.23 seconds in the jump-off. They now lead the field coming into Saturday’s all-important final.

Last year’s runner-up Australian Senior Champions, Gemma Creighton and Dada Des Brimbelles Z (by Darco out of Biscotte Des Brimbelles), put in a brilliant double clear round to finish in second place (42.89). Tom McDermott and Oaks Ventriloquist (44.23) proved consistency is key, adding another third place to their resume to put the duo in second place in the overall standings.

Young talent shines in the Children’s Championship
The future stars of Australian showjumping lit up the arena in the evening, with New South Wales rider Zavanah Cochran producing a polished double clear to take victory in Round 2 of the Equestrian Life Australian Children’s Championship aboard Cera Cadett. Stopping the clock in a sharp 38.04 seconds in the jump-off, Cochran set a benchmark that proved untouchable.
In second place was Victoria’s Malena Tomsic and Secret Crush, who also delivered a classy double clear with a 40.97 finish. Nellie Tuddenham and Double J Image completed the podium in third, while Georgina Pillar and Joselands Patrick secured fourth. Rounding out the top six were Harriet Smith aboard Oaks Conspiracy in fifth and Ruby Milway with Ulove B Z in sixth.
