The Paris Olympic combination of Jayden Brown and Quincy B have continued their rise in the FEI world rankings, with Jayden at #22 in the FEI Dressage World Ranking – Athletes – CDI3*/CDIO3* and above and Quincy B at #20 in the FEI Dressage World Ranking – Horses – CDI3*/CDIO3* and above.

Since last month, Jayden has risen from #30 and Quincy has risen from #26. Their rankings climb follows a hat-trick of CDI3* wins at Willinga Park’s tenth anniversary of Dressage by the Sea, where they claimed the Grand Prix, Special and Freestyle.

“It’s pretty exciting to see Quincy’s name pop up on the FEI world rankings… what an amazing horse that I’m so fortunate to have trained from three-year-old to Grand Prix,” reflects Jayden.

“Also exciting to see my own world ranking… I never would have thought we’d be in the top 50 let alone pushing towards the top 20. What’s even more special is that we are doing it from Australia. I’ve heard many people say that returning home could be a backwards step and make it harder to get the scores, but hopefully we are starting to prove to our sport in Australia that staying in Europe isn’t the only way to get to the top of your game.

“Quincy and I have trained from young horse to Grand Prix in Australia, with my long time and very trusted eyes on the ground Jenny Gehrke; whilst both Jenny and I are always soaking up knowledge from the people we aspire to overseas, particularly our friends in the UK, it’s nice to take a moment to be proud of producing consistent high scores that are still improving and doing it our Australian way!

“Bring on our last World Championships qualifier in a few weeks!”

The next FEI World Championship qualifier for Australian-based combinations is Dressage and Jumping with the Stars in Victoria (19-21 March).

The FEI Dressage World Rankings are not part of selection consideration for the FEI World Championship, however it’s always exciting to see Australia represented on these lists alongside the world’s best.

Fellow Australian Olympian Mary Hanna is also inside the top 100 of the Athlete rankings at #59, up from #96 – while her horse Ivanhoe is at #57 in the Horse rankings, up from #167.

Interesting, three Grand Prix horses formerly ridden by Australian Olympian Simone Pearce – Cadeau Noir, Fiderdance, and All We Need – are inside the top 100 of the Horse rankings.
