LGCT Miami Beach set to get underway
The second stage of the 2022 Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) and Global Champions League (GCL) season is set to begin at the incredible Miami Beach location from today (Thursday), and run through April 16. This event is like no other with the arena set right next to the Atlantic Ocean which serves as a picture-perfect backdrop for elite show jumping competition.
Miami Beach is a South Florida city island that is famous for its Art Deco Architecture and beautiful beaches. The venue is a favourite for both competitors as well as spectators because of its stunning location and view.
The first round of GCL competition will be held on Thursday, with the second round taking place Saturday. Riders from around the world will vie for the top prize in the LGCT Grand Prix of Miami Beach on Saturday.
An impressive lineup of 57 riders representing 18 different nations will compete at this prestigious event. Fans and spectators will be able to watch top horse and rider combinations such as Ashlee Bond and Donatello, Ben Maher with Ginger-Blue, Bliss Heers aboard Antidote de Mars, Conor Swail riding Vital Chance de la Roque, Daniel Deusser and Killer Queen VDM, Kent Farrington riding Gazelle, and Nayal Nassar with Igor van de Wittemoere.
Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander, who has previously won the LGCT Grand Prix at Miami Beach twice, is set to compete and we wish her the best of luck!
Miami Beach will also offer 2* competition at the lovely beachside venue alongside the world-class 5* show jumping.
