With the 2025 breeding season beginning, excitement is in the air for performance horse breeders. Even after more than 35 years in the business, International Horse Breeders’ Glenis Dyason can’t wait to identify the latest stallions on offer.
“It’s always very exciting to see the new overseas stallions that are available through frozen semen at the beginning of every new season,” says Glenis Dyason of International Horse Breeders (IHB). “These young stallions represent the best of the licensed stallions in their year in Europe, with top performance scores, offering a range of pedigrees that are internationally sought after.”
WHAT’S NEW FOR DRESSAGE BREEDERS?
Paul Schockemöhle International
Paul Schockemöhle International always offers a large number of top young new sires, which creates great interest and enthusiasm for performance horse breeders, and Glenis says that this season they do not disappoint.
Expectation (Escamillo x Furst Romancier x Sarkozy) is a premium stallion with exceptional bloodlines and an elegant and harmonious appearance with dynamic movement.
First Magic (For Romance 1 x Desperado x Sandro Hit) is from the famous mare lines of Gesina, which guarantees a willingness to perform.
Iconic Diamond (Iron x Sarkozy x De Niro) is by Iron, who was bronze medallist at the Oldenburg Regional Championships. He impresses with his ideal riding horse qualities with top scores at his performance test in Adelheidsdorf.
Seacrest (Secret x Christ x Fidertanz) was Reserve Champion in Westphalia, as well as Reserve Champion of his licensing in 2023 in Munster-Handorf. At his stallion performance test in 2024 in Adelheidsdorf, he gained very high scores for rideability, willingness to perform, and his basic paces and overall impression.
Total PS (Totilas x Dante Weltino x Sir Donnerhall 1) is a stallion with modern conformation and is characterised very much by his mechanics: a powerful canter with clear uphill tendency, active hind leg and freedom of shoulder in trot, as well as a confident stride in walk with good ground coverage.
True Hope PS (Total Hope x Fürstenball x Sir Donnerhall 1) scored 10 for rideability at his performance test in Adelheidsdorf! This beautiful stallion also scored well in his basic paces and willingness to perform.
Viva Romance (Vivino x Sir Donnerhall 1 x Don Schufro) was Champion Stallion of the 2022 licensing in Redefin and completed his short test in Vechta with exceptional top scores. He went on to secure the bronze medal at the Oldenburg Regional Championships for three-year-olds. In 2024 he passed his sport test in Verden with the highest rideability score of all participants and finished as Reserve Champion.
Viva Vitalis (Vitalis x Furst Romancier x Sir Donnerhall 1). This stallion is a combination of the proven and tested genetics of Vitalis and the fabulous Gesine mare family. He is equipped with very harmonious conformation, with active hindquarters that are always under the centre of gravity – and so was selected as the winning stallion.
Viva Vitalis (Vitalis x Furst Romancier x Sir Donnerhall 1).
Zarenball (Zenon x Fürstenball x Londonderry) was Premium Stallion at the Oldenburg licensing. At his short test in Vechta, his scores were exceptional.
Zonik & Zenon bloodlines
A horse that has recently caught the attention of dressage enthusiast around the world is Zonik Plus (Zonik x Hohenstein), who with Belgian rider Justin Verboomen has impressed at elite competitions such as CHIO Aachen.

Helgstrand Dressage
From Helgstrand Dressage IHB introduces Dynamic Dream (Dynamic Dancer x Sir Donnerhall 1 x Arpeggio) whose sire needs no introduction, but he is beginning to be regarded as a top sire in his own right too. His son Dynamic Heart was sold for 190,000 euros as a foal.
For Royalty (For Romance 1 x Franziskus x De Niro) was approved as a premium stallion at the Hanoverian licensing thanks to his focused work ethic, presence and powerful hindquarters.
One to Remember (Secret x Vivaldi x Gribaldi); Secretwas a bronze winner at the Danish Championship with a rideability score of 10!
Proud James (Jameson RS2 x Johnson x Variant) was winner of the four-year-old class at the 2024 FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses. He also completed his stallion performance test in the Netherlands with a sensational score of 91 points, well ahead of his competition. He has incredible balance, very good movement technique and a very good committed hind leg, with an uphill tendency and fantastic character.
Proud James (Jameson RS2 x Johnson x Variant).
Veniro (Va Bene x De Niro x Wolkentanz 11) shone at his licensing in Munster-Handorf with his charisma, his beautiful type, good conformation, and movement. He always works loosely through the body, and his basic gaits are endowed with plenty of rhythm and scope.
German State Hanoverian Stud
From the German State Hanoverian Stud in Celle IHB introduces Total Love (Total Hope x Licotus x Archipelago). This noble black stallion has extraordinary type, long-legged with a very active hind leg. In the canter he is always uphill with a lot of power, and he has a beautiful character.
Venturo (Valdiviano x Belissimo M x De Niro) is a premium stallion with super conformation, and he demonstrates his three paces with great spring and power.
WHAT’S NEW FOR JUMPING BREEDERS?
Casco Blue PS (Casallco x Chacco-Blue x Continue) competed the loose jumping test of his licensing with absolute superiority. In 2024 in Adelheidsdorf he also impressed with boundless scope. He is competing in young show jumping classes with top placings.
Chacord GB (Chacoon Blue x Acord 11 x Grannus). This sporty and extremely talented show jumper secured silver at the Dobrock Championships in addition to victories and placings in competitions for young show jumpers.
Two other sons of Chacoon Blue, Chaloubino PS (Chacoon Blue x Centadel x Baloubet du Rouet) and Challasco Blue PS (Chacoon Blue x Casallco x Contendros) were Regional Champions and performance test champions.
Come and Catch Me Z (Comme II Faut x Acord Plus x Gloucester) is a half-brother to Catch Me If You Can and the top priced foal at the Flanders Foal Auction, and Conthalor Blue PS (Conthargos x Firth of Lorne x Chacco-Blue) amazed the experts at his licensing in 2022 and went on to gain high scores for his willingness to perform, his canter, scope and rideability.
From Diablue PS comes Diallasco Blue PS (Diablue PS x Casallco x Nintender) who is characterised by his maximum athleticism, an ideal and almost breathless trajectory over the jump, and with a lot of control and perfect caution.
Diarado (Diamant de Semilly x Corrado 1).
Dourking Hero Z (Dourkham Hero Z x Kassander van’t Roosakker Z x Againix du Seigneur Z). At his Zangersheide licensing, this stallion gave the first glimpse of his outstanding talent and has now also proven this under saddle with his first placings. He is from the famous Belgian Warmblood performance line 100.
Especial for Fun (Eldorado van de Zeshoek x For Pleasure x Fabriano). What a pedigree! This stallion’s dam is the Global Champions Tour winner, Fit For Fun, and his sire is the foundation stallion, Eldorado van de Zeshoek who was victorious in 1.6m show jumping and has earned the title of ambassador of BWP breeding.
Olesko (Oganno Sitte x Lord Pezi x Quattro B) has the ability and willingness to perform, which was demonstrated at his performance test where he came fourth with top scores for ability and rideability. He is from the famous bloodline of Aleska Z.
Tobaro (Tobago Z x Converter x Argentinus) was OS (Jumping Horse Oldenburg-International) Champion Stallion and third in his stallion performance test. Highlights in Adelheidsdorf were his scope, manner, canter, willingness to perform and overall impression and rideability.
