The FEI are planning to introduce a new maternity and medical leave rule – for both males and females – that would allow riders to retain some points for the World Dressage Rankings while they are out on maternity leave.

FEI World Dressage Rankings are important for riders, as they influence matters such as sponsorships and also determine where combinations ride in the draw, i.e. whether they ride their test at the beginning or end of the class.

You can view the updated rule here.
