Melbourne International 3DE has been cancelled due to COVID-19

By Equestrian Life

Organisers have been forced to make the heartbreaking decision to cancel the 2021 Furphy Media Melbourne International 3 Day Event, following yesterday’s government announcement of an extended COVID-19 lockdown in metropolitan Melbourne.

The lockdown, which was due to finish today, has now been extended another seven days, bringing it right up to the first day of the event. Many interstate as well as local competitors were hoping to compete, and the 4* classes were set to be the final chance for combinations to achieve Tokyo Olympic qualifications.

“Following the Victorian Government announcement (yesterday) we have sadly cancelled the 2021 Furphy Media Melbourne International 3 Day Event. So much work done by so many to get this close. Thank you to everyone involved… we appreciate your support and we will be back in 2022,” said the event via social media.
